Catch Me If You Can
Southern White Rhino
Kenya - 2022
In the heart of Kenya, a remarkable conservancy holds the title for the largest concentration of rhinos within a single protected area. Spanning 19,000 acres, and encircled by a 45,000-acre ranch, this sanctuary is home to hundreds of both black and white rhinos. Established in the 1970s, it is one of the oldest and most revered rhino sanctuaries in existence.
Playing a pivotal role in the species’ recovery across East Africa, this conservancy boasts one of the world’s most successful private rhino breeding program. Beyond breeding, it is a key facilitator in the reintroduction of rhinos to wilderness areas across Africa, helping to restore dwindling populations and reshape conservation history.
This is truly a story of resilience and revival—proof of what can be achieved through dedicated efforts to save a species once on the brink of extinction.
Talk about a recovery of a species.
